Terms of Service

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. By using our services, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your profile up to date.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being used fraudulently.

All ticket purchases and payments are processed through Square. By purchasing a ticket, you agree to Square’s terms of service in addition to these Terms.

• All prices are listed in US dollars and include applicable taxes unless otherwise noted
• Tickets are non-transferable unless explicitly permitted
• Refund eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis; please contact us for refund requests
• We reserve the right to modify pricing at any time for future events

Sous Chef memberships provide access to livestream classes, video replays, recipes, and other member-exclusive content as described at the time of purchase.

• Memberships are billed through Square on a recurring basis (monthly or annual)
• You may cancel your membership at any time; access continues until the end of your billing period
• Annual members have access to all past replays; monthly members have access to replays from the start of their membership
• We reserve the right to modify membership benefits or pricing with reasonable notice

When attending classes at The Recipe Ames, whether in person or via livestream, you agree to:

• Arrive on time for in-person classes
• Follow all safety instructions provided by our chefs and staff
• Inform us of any dietary restrictions or food allergies through your profile
• Treat staff, chefs, and fellow guests with respect
• Not record, redistribute, or publicly share livestream or replay content

We reserve the right to refuse service or remove guests who engage in disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate behavior.

All content on our portal — including class recordings, recipes, images, text, and branding — is the property of Elliot Pointe LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

• You may view and download recipes for personal, non-commercial use only
• You may not reproduce, distribute, or publicly display our content without written permission
• Class recordings and livestreams are for personal viewing only and may not be shared or redistributed

When an event is sold out, you may join the waitlist. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee a spot. If a spot becomes available, you will be notified via email and given a limited time to claim your ticket. Unclaimed spots will be offered to the next person on the waitlist.

We reserve the right to cancel, reschedule, or modify events due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to instructor availability, weather, or facility issues.

• If we cancel an event, registered guests will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to another class
• If we reschedule an event, you will be notified and may request a refund if the new date does not work
• We are not responsible for any incidental costs (travel, accommodation) related to event changes

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Elliot Pointe LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

We provide our services “as is” and make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the availability, reliability, or accuracy of our portal or content.

Participation in cooking classes involves inherent risks, including but not limited to burns, cuts, slips, and allergic reactions. By attending a class, you acknowledge and accept these risks. You are responsible for informing us of any food allergies or medical conditions through your profile.

Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our services shall be resolved in the courts of Story County, Iowa.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on our portal or sending you an email. Your continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
